CANDIDATE PROFILE:

We are seeking a transaction-oriented professional to support senior members of the Business Development team in executing project divestitures, offtake processes and related commercial transactions. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and communication skills with disciplined process management, sound judgment and a high level of ownership.

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Director, Business Development with 1) the divestiture of projects under development (pre-construction opportunities), and 2) the origination and execution of offtake and other commercial agreements. The candidate will assume meaningful responsibility across the transaction lifecycle, including preparation, buyer outreach, diligence, negotiation and closing. Over time, the candidate may also support the Director, Project Finance in securing and administering commercial bank debt and project bonds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Divestitures

• Prepare high-quality transaction materials, including teasers, confidential information presentations, management presentations, process letters and buyer-specific analyses, for the sale of battery energy storage and solar PV assets
• Support identification and outreach to buyers by leveraging OCI relationships, the candidate’s industry contacts and targeted market research
• Manage transaction workplans, buyer trackers, outreach sequencing and virtual data rooms across multiple concurrent processes to ensure timely, accurate and consistent delivery of project information
• Support buyer diligence by triaging requests, coordinating cross-functional workstreams and ensuring timely, accurate and consistent responses
• Support proposal evaluation and negotiation of transaction documents, with appropriate focus on value, execution risk, closing certainty and timely completion; prepare concise senior-management updates identifying key issues, decisions, owners and next steps

2. Other Transactions (e.g., PPAs, Build Transfer Agreements and Tolling Agreements)

• Serve as transaction manager responsible for the thorough preparation and timely submission of high-quality proposals for new contracts
• Manage cross-functional teams of internal and external resources to ensure accurate, timely and competitive proposals and contract execution

3. Project Financing

• Prepare high-quality transaction materials, including teasers, confidential information presentations, management presentations, process letters and buyer-specific analyses, for the financing battery energy storage and solar PV assets
• Support lender due diligence processes, including management of data rooms, diligence requests and transaction workstreams.
• Support evaluation of financing proposals, debt sizing, financing structures and lender comparisons.
• Support loan administration and reporting, including lender consents, amendments, borrowing requests, monthly reporting, interest payments, swap estimates and other financing-related obligations.
• Track financing conditions precedent, closing deliverables and post-closing obligations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or another relevant area of study
• MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
• Three plus (3+) years of renewable energy transactions experience in investment banking, infrastructure investing, project finance, or corporate development.

Job Description: Senior Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision by the Controller, the Senior Accountant maintains all accounting functions of OCI Energy including financial analysis. This position is responsible for month-end closing, Fixed Assets and provides support, oversight and leadership for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The Senior Accountant is expected to handle complex and non-standard accounting matters, identify issues, and recommend solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries (including complex, non-standard and accrual entries) and account reconciliations.
• Support the month-end close process, ensuring that processing and reporting deadlines are consistently met and that supporting documentation is maintained in monthly working paper files.
• Prepare financial statements including reports for monthly operations reviews.
• Report month to month activity and variances to budget and provide appropriate analysis and supporting details.
• Review bank, sub-ledger to general ledger (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets) and other balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the General Accountant.
• Responsible for recording the cost of under construction and newly-acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depletion, depreciation and amortization and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.
• Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including setting priorities, defining and improving procedures, and maintaining internal controls.
• Support accounting and financial reporting for the Company’s partnership and LLC entities, including intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare regular cash flow forecasts to assist with cash management.
• Prepare and file various government forms and state tax filings, including sales and use tax where applicable.
• Prepare schedules and support requests from external auditors and tax advisors.
• Provide guidance, training and work review for the General Accountant and assist other team members with accounting questions.
• Document accounting processes, support internal controls, and identify and implement process improvements.
• Lead or assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; advanced degree or MBA a plus
• Five plus (5+) years of accounting experience
• Experience will include full financial reporting, month-end closing and fixed assets, with a working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and controls
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Previous experience working with Partnerships and/or LLCs

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Controller, and with guidance from the Senior Accountant, the General Accountant performs full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and supports general ledger, bank reconciliation and month-end closing activities for OCI Energy. This position is a key transactional processing role in the accounting team and requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently meet weekly and monthly deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Process vendor invoices for payment, including coding and 3-way matching.
• Prepare weekly payment batches for review and approval, and process employee expense reports and corporate card statements.
• Assist project and operations team members with coding and completing purchase orders, and follow up on stale-dated purchase orders and receipts not invoiced.
• Maintain vendor master data, collect vendor tax documentation and assist with Form 1099 reporting and other government forms as needed.
• Prepare and issue monthly invoices to customers and review for accuracy prior to submission.
• Record banking transactions on a regular basis and maintain bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries, including recurring and accrual entries.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, sub-ledger to general ledger (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable), prepaids and accrued liabilities, and maintain monthly working paper files with supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
• Maintain adequate supporting records and respond to audit and tax requests as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three plus (3+) years of accounting experience

Job Summary:

Under general supervision from the Director of Interconnection, the Transmission Planning Manager plays a critical role in the full lifecycle of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of the interconnection process, including site evaluation, managing interconnection applications, performing power flow studies, and conducting economic modeling. You will also support the design, specification, scheduling, testing, and commissioning of projects. The Interconnection Manager will serve as OCI Energy’s primary point of contact throughout the development, execution, and construction phases of the interconnection process across multiple markets.

Essential Functions:

• Manage, track, and support OCI Energy’s project portfolio across all phases of each project’s lifecycle, ensuring effective communication with TSPs, ISOs, internal teams, consultants, and other stakeholders regarding interconnection studies, applications, tests, and other project needs.
• Conduct and supervise power flow modeling, interconnection analyses, economic assessments, and utility coordination to identify optimal locations and sizes of future projects.
• Perform and supervise transmission analysis to evaluate constraints, congestion, curtailment risk, and basis risk relevant to each project.
• Assist with the review and negotiation of interconnection agreements, including technical exhibits and other commercial terms.
• Oversee preliminary design and development of single-line diagrams for interconnections.
• Develop and track schedules and milestones in coordination with the master project schedule and EPC timelines.
• Monitor engineering, procurement, and construction of interconnection facilities that are performed by contractors or utilities, and coordinate and lead related calls.
• Staying informed about developments at ISO meetings and providing updates to leadership and other appropriate groups relating to projects or changes that may affect the project pipeline.
• Assist in the registration of generators with utilities, RTO/ISOs and other regulatory agencies.
• Support ISO, NERC, FERC, and other regional compliance efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in power systems or Computer Engineering.
• Five plus (5+) years of experience in transmission planning, market analysis, or a related area within the power industry.
• Three plus (3+) years of experience with PowerWorld, PSSE, PLEXOS, TARA, or other power flow and PCM software is required.
• Strong project management skills, with a preference for PMP certification.
• A self-starter with the capacity to work independently and deliver on key objectives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills both with individuals and groups.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and delegate to meet project deadlines.

• Ability to independently perform interconnection and transmission analyses with limited supervision.

SUMMARY:

The Real Estate Development Manager spearheads the company’s landowner outreach activities to lease and acquire land.  OCI is seeking someone who enjoys and is skillful at engaging with property owners, presenting development opportunities, and facilitating their progression to discussions with the development managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Research parcel ownership and contact information for landowners as needed.
• Understands and/or determines land ownership information through review of provided data, deeds, plat books, and tax roll research, etc.
• Actively initiate calls, send texts, and emails to prospective landowners, striving for engagement and potential collaboration.
• Conduct in-person visits to landowner properties when required, ensuring direct and clear communication about the company’s propositions.

• Strong skills in negotiating with landowners and presenting developmental opportunities persuasively.
• Adeptness in using multiple data sources, including deeds, plat books, tax rolls, and online databases to identify land ownership.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with potential and existing landowners.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Asset Manager, the Operations Engineer will provide technical support for all aspects of on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and modifications of OCI Energy’s portfolio of solar PV facilities.  Duties include engineering services relating to inspection, improvement, efficient operation, maintenance, environmental assessment and compliance, monitoring, commissioning, testing, inspecting, and management of the company’s solar power generation facilities including inverters, PV module arrays, transformers, switchgear, trackers, instrumentation, communications systems, and metering systems as well as performing related work and other duties and tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides engineering support to OCI Energy’s power generating facilities and associated plant equipment and systems to ensure operation of the facilities are proper, safe, efficient and environmentally responsible, including identifying discrepancies and develops corrective action plans
• Monitors site performance and perform data analysis to provide information on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to measure the performance, detect underperforming equipment, and potential failures.
• Monitors SCADA systems for alarms and coordinate communications with onsite operation team and/or external parties.
• Provides support to develop, maintain, and control protocol and policies.
• Maintains regulatory compliance for the assets and interface with ISOs, Utilities, TSPs, DSPs or others, as applicable for each asset to coordinate and comply with the applicable rules.
• Provides engineering support through troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Supports management and control of inventory.
• Provides support on procurement activities such as for parts supply, and coordinating with suppliers and customers as needed.
• Provides support on RFP/RFQ, contractor selection, contract drafting/revision, contractor work supervision, contract compliance and warranties.
• Performs analyses, prepares reports and makes recommendations to improve plant performance, equipment efficiency, and safety of plant operations.
• Inspects and performs tests on power plant equipment to assess condition, identify problems and potential for malfunction, and to design and implement plant and equipment improvements.
• May be assigned to supervise other employees to complete projects or other work assignments.
• Monitors industry trends and acquires knowledge of new methods and equipment that pertain to solar power generation, operations, and maintenance.
• Provides assistance and support to the plant to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Supports development and writing of specifications for operating power plant maintenance and capital improvement projects; assists Purchasing in the issuance of request-for-proposals (RFPs) and bid documents; evaluates proposals and bids and provides analyses and recommendations to OCI Energy staff and management.
• Compiles plant information and data and prepares forms and reports as necessary to meet state and Federal reporting requirements.
• May be required to develop load and generation forecasts and perform related analyses.
• Travels to project sites and vendor locations as assigned to support on all aspects of performance analysis, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Communicates effectively with OCI Energy and third-party vendors and actively participate in meeting reviews to provide technical feedback of field operations.
• Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and associated periodic meetings.
• Monitors sites and responds to emergency call outs as may be required.
• Ensures that all operations and maintenance activities performed at project sites complies with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) requirements and warranties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Preferred: specialization in power generation.
• Valid driver’s license and availability to obtain permit to drive official vehicles in the field

Reports To: Vice President of Project Development

OCI Energy is a respected developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Outreach Intern to support our Project Development team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy development while working alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Job Summary:

The Land Outreach Intern supports the land leasing process for solar and energy storage development projects by identifying, researching, and engaging with prospective landowners. This role will assist with landowner outreach, market research, data management, and strategic planning efforts that help advance OCI Energy’s project development activities.

Essential Functions:

• Use research tools, public records, and online resources to identify and locate prospective landowners and gather information on potential project sites.
• Develop background profiles on landowners and properties to support land acquisition efforts.
• Contact landowners to introduce OCI Energy projects and facilitate discussions regarding potential lease opportunities.
• Conduct market and landowner research to support land outreach strategies and project development efforts.
• Coordinate with the Land Outreach team to stay informed on active lease discussions and project activities.
• Maintain and update landowner, property, and market prospecting databases.
• Assist with organizing outreach materials, tracking landowner communications, and maintaining accurate project records.
• Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations related to outreach activities and market research findings.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Geography, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience or coursework in market research, analytics, renewable energy, real estate, or a related field is preferred.

Job Description: Corporate Development Intern

Location: San Antonio, TX (HQ)

OCI Energy is a San Antonio-based developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. Since 2011, we have built a portfolio of nearly 8 GW developed or in development, with buyers such as Con Edison and Berkshire Hathaway Energy, and we are targeting up to 15 GW by 2030. We are also launching a new data center business line.

We are seeking a Corporate Development Intern who will report directly to and work closely with our VP of Corporate Development. This is a paid, in-office internship. We believe the best learning happens side by side with the team, where interns can sit in on discussions, ask questions in real time, and see how deals come together. High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time role.

Summary: 

The Intern will support sourcing, screening, and due diligence on solar and energy storage acquisition targets, as well as energy market research. The role involves close coordination with internal land, development, interconnection, and finance teams. The Intern may also join external calls and meetings with project developers as needed.

Essential Functions: 

• Research and identify project developers interested in selling their projects
• Coordinate and track due diligence on acquisition targets across internal teams
• Support preliminary financial analysis and present findings to management
• Conduct research on North American and international energy markets
• Maintain and update the acquisition database for all projects under review
• Support research and early-stage initiatives for our new data center business

Qualifications: 

• Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, or a recent graduate, in finance, economics, business, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Comfortable using AI tools to speed up research and analysis and to quickly learn new topics on your own
• Able to work in-office in San Antonio during standard business hours (minimum 20 hours per week; up to 40 when available).
• Strong research, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey conclusions and recommendations
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred: 

• Customer-facing experience (retail, hospitality, sales, etc.)
• Interest in renewable energy, power markets, or data centers
• Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., Google Earth, ArcGIS) or basic financial analysis in Excel
